Hey up, time to post some recent drawings! The summer's drifting away and life starts to slow down too - I've got my computer in the same place as myself at the moment, too, which allows me to doodle in photoshop from time to time. Great way to relax - not nearly as much pressure as painting or pencilling! PS - I'm planning to scan in some of these next week, so keep an eye open.

OK... no... it's snowing. I'm meant to be going to Wales tomorrow. I don't know if I'll make it, the trains aren't being very reliable.
I've bought a bottle of ink! Combined with a calligraphy pen and a paintbrush and some water, which is way less equipment than I need for oil or acrylic painting, I can almost mimic my digital style. Which is after all, pretty much a pen and ink style - I have both lines and liquid shading. I want to practice with the ink until I can do exactly the same things with it as I can with digital drawings. Then I can oil paint for painting, and pen-brush-and-ink drawings, and I won't need to use digital for anything except saving money on paper for personal projects. That's the idea anyway! Anyone have any ideas for how to get highlights OVER a pen and ink drawing, could I maybe use a lick of acrylic paint or something, or should I just practice leaving the paper blank?
Now I've got to find that scanner...

I finally put down the pencils + picked up the tablet, so I can show something now.
Light and shadow is where its at at the moment for sure. I like working with scribbles, it's so fast and yet I can get across everything I see in the subject.
Also it's a break from the huge time-consuming paintings I've been doing over the last few years, I'm honestly just doodling at the moment and improving penmanship and my eye. Trying to say as much as a photo with just a few lines.

Today is a short post in honour of Dee :) My wild pony was behaving like an angel today. He was being affectionate, willing and charmingly mud-splattered.

Tomorrow I promise photos of how my horses are getting on. It's been beautiful weather.

hey! This is my art/photo/sketchblog.
Some of it is private. If you want to listen to me ramble about nothing in particular, comment here and I'll add you.
